Belgian and Dutch colleagues of The Oval Office team up for the first-ever Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Smash Ball Team Cup 2019 finals
Germany takes home the victory
Over the past few months, Nintendo of Europe organized national qualifiers all across the continent. During the thrilling finale, Team Ehre Germany eventually gained the upper hand, taking home the European title as well as a ticket for the World Championships which will be held on June 8th in Los Angeles.
The ultimate gaming experience
For the occasion, the Dutch and Belgian colleagues of The Oval Office joined forces and transformed Amsterdam’s Beurs van Berlage into a spectacular gaming arena. The international team took care of the overall organization, location, catering, registrations and on-site branding.
Throughout the whole weekend, Nintendo of Europe welcomed some 700 gaming lovers to witness the finals. Upon arrival, they were all treated with a goodie bag containing a branded hat, t-shirt and cheering sticks. There was also a photo booth in order for attendees to take home a fun reminder of their live Nintendo experience.
Livestream with casters
Given the international interest, Nintendo of Europe employed a specialized partner to livestream the tournament in multiple languages on Twitch and YouTube. International casters commented on the players' every move, bringing the excitement into the living rooms of more than 150K viewers from all over the world.
A longstanding collaboration
The organization of the European Smash Ball Team Cup finals represents another chapter in the collaboration between Nintendo and The Oval Office, which has been going on for quite some years now.
